Since the qualification and learning outcomes characterising the “heritage interpretation” activities (which constitute a new prior focus of European policy on tourism as important professional key tool and role for many tourism professionals to develop qualified tourism projects and products involving EU cultural and natural heritage) are not clearly identified across European VET systems of tourism sector, the project intends apply EQF and ECVET to these professional field and learning outcomes, mapping it onto EQF via national qualifications frameworks and systems, designing the qualification in learning outcomes transferable units with credit points allocation, designing and delivering related VET programmes with flexible devices to validate, transfer and recognise learning outcomes achieved in formal, informal and non formal contexts.

At these aims are foreseen the following objectives:

- to analyse the concerned professional field within the European tourism sector and related VET systems, classifying it within EQF across participating countries, and identifying a shared professional perimeter to activate an ECVET process for the new common European qualification of “European Heritage Interpreter”;

- to define an action plan to activate an ECVET process for the new European qualification, starting from collection, analysis, adaptation of already realised best practices on transparency/recognition of competences/qualifications, and on ECVET;

- to design the new European qualification in terms of activities/ tasks/ competences/ learning outcomes units/ ECVET credits;

- to define and formalise (partners and other competent and/or interested organisations) a Memorandum of Understanding - MoU ECVET for the new common qualification;

- to define and formalise (by professionals interested to qualification, concerned enterprises, training agencies) ECVET Learning Agreements describing, in compliance with MoU, training processes in formal/informal/non formal contexts, and related ECVET credits to be obtained;

- to award to involved professionals, by concerned training agencies, ECVET credits related to verified learning outcomes, also utilising Europass Certificate Supplement;

- to transfer, validate and accumulate awarded ECVET credits in sectoral/ territorial VET systems involved in MoU;

- to develop and disseminate related strategies and approaches to key actors, providing at European level open information and supporting resources on activated ECVET process.
